- Lot Description
A mustard yellow 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo used in The Fast and the Furious : Tokyo Drift (Universal, 2006) and signed by car builder Dennis McCarthy. The car has “Tokyo Drift,” “Universal Hollywood,” and “YearOne” decal stickers on the front window and a “Driver: Lucas Black” sticker on the side. Black plays American street racer Sean Boswell in the film. Bullet holes are on the side of the car, and a baseball is lodged in the back window. VIN 1H57J2L519935.
Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Dennis McCarthy, the film's picture car coordinator; another from Greg Grams, president of Volo Auto Museum in Volo, Illinois; and a copy of the film. McCarthy has said that this Monte Carlo is his favorite of all the cars from the film franchise; he has repeatedly compared it to the Eleanor car from Gone in Sixty Seconds (Touchstone, 2000).
