A collection of ephemera relating to the Memphis State University production of William Inge's Bus Stop in which Stevens starred as Cherie, a role played a couple years earlier in the film version by Marilyn Monroe. Stevens was reportedly "discovered" during her performance as Cherie and offered a contract with 20th Century Fox. The collection contains an original program for the MSU play; a congratulatory telegram; press clippings; cast biographies; a copy of the Dramatists Play Service publication of Bus Stop with notes and underlining in ink and the name "Cherie" written across the cover; a group of approximately 20 original photographs showing Stevens on stage performing in the play; and a string of black ostrich feathers that were likely a souvenir from one of the costumes worn during the performance.
