A prop painting used in Alfred Hitchcock’s Spellbound (MGM, 1945) starring Gregory Peck and Ingrid Bergman. The landscape painting, signed “H. Pendleton/ 1889,” is seen multiple times in the second half of the film. Additionally, the painting was used on the “Gene Autry Show” (CBS, 1950-1956); the consignor reports that the painting can be seen in the episodes titled “Horse Sense,” “Outlaw Escape,” “Heir to the Lazy L,” and “The Kid Comes West.” Housed in a gilt-wood frame. Accompanied by a copy of the film.
