An electric golf cart given to Katharine Hepburn by director George Cukor. Cukor, whose initials "GDC" have been applied to the side of the cart, was a close friend of Hepburn and directed her in some of her best known films, including The Philadelphia Story (MGM, 1940), Adam's Rib (MGM, 1949), Pat and Mike (MGM, 1952) and Little Women (RKO, 1933). The cart was sold in the 2004 Sotheby's Hepburn Estate auction to Hall of Fame golfer and golf course designer Amy Alcott, who has enjoyed ownership of the cart and is ready to share the cart with other Hepburn fans. Accompanied by a copy of The Private World of Katharine Hepburn by John Bryson (New York: Little, Brown and Company, 1992) containing a photograph of Hepburn in the cart.
The cart is currently located in Palm Springs, California. The winning bidder is responsible for shipping the cart from Palm Springs.
