A Johnny Depp handwritten signed note to Darlene Cates. Cates starred as Depp's mother in the film What's Eating Gilbert Grape (Paramount, 1993). The note is inscribed on the back of page eight of a revised script from the film. Reads in part, "Thank you for waking Gilbert up/ and thank you for opening me up./ You really are incredible -/ and most beautiful./ i love you doll -/ Johnny/ giLbert."
