This custom Fender Precision bass guitar can absolutely be screen-matched to scenes from an out-of-print 2003 concert DVD, Rude Boys , from a live performance in Barcelona, Spain.
The guitar as it exists today has multiple elements that can be matched up with still images from the video: various stickers (placement and worn areas), Sharpie writing all over the face of the guitar by Dirnt, various dings and other markings, some black tape at the top, etc.
More, at the end of the song "When I Come Around," Dirnt joins in with drummer Tre Cool's destruction of onstage gear and equipment and smashes the guitar against speakers, the floor and, ultimately, one of Tre's drums, ultimately embedding it into the side of the drum and leaving it on stage as set decoration for lead singer/guitarist Billy Joe's final encore, "Good Riddance."
Note that the pickguard and other components were destroyed and forever lost during the onstage destruction in the video; band's tour manager also added a sticker sometime after rescuing the guitar from the stage after the concert shown in the DVD. The pickguard is NOT original and was added after being gifted away by the band. The guitar is not playable in its current state of condition.
