- Lot Description
Late 19th/early 20th century, the movement marked ''Gubelin / Swiss / Lucerne'' and ''R Swiss A / Thirteen 13 Jewels'', the mounts apprently unmarked, possibly French, surmounted by a berry cluster and foliate finial, the domed cover above a reeded collar surmounting dual bands of white porcelain tiles, the upper with black Arabic numeral minute markers at five-minute increments, the lower with black Roman numeral hour markers, set within the bluish-gray marble ovoid case held aloft by dual demi-figures with foliate lower halves, raised on a stepped oblong gilt bronze-mounted marble base, on acorn feet, 21'' H x 16'' W x 6'' D, est: $12,000/18,000 Provenance: Private Collection, Laguna Beach, CA
Condition
Overall good condition, with scattered nicks, fleabites and scratches to marble. Two small spots to fill of ovoid case; each approximately .25'' in diameter. Winds and runs. Moran's does not guarantee working condition of clocks and watches.
