''The Trees'', triptych, three tree-themed landscapes, signed and dated in the lower left of the right image: Karl Yens / 1918, titled on the lower edge of the frame, inscribed on the upper edge of the frame, oil on canvas laid to board, each image: 25.5'' H x 21.5'' W. Total: 25.5'' H x 64.5'' W, est: $15,000/25,000 Note: Inscribed along the upper edge of the frame with a stanza from artist and author Elizabeth Colwell's (1881-1954) circa 1918 poem ''Trees'': ''Bound are we to the earth for sustenance from birth.
