Lot Description

Early 20th century, marked to face for retailer ''S & G Gump Co. / San Francisco'', further marked ''France'', the movement marked ''8 Eight Jewels / UNADJUSTED / A Marchandon / Paris / 8 Rubis / Made in France'', the cylindrical clock case with a white enameled face with black Arabic numerals and pierced gilt scrolling hands, raised on gilt branch-form supports accented with hand-painted porcelain flowers, over a blue porcelain seated Buddha raised on a stepped molded oval base, on leaf and seed-pod feet, with key (13.75'' H x 8.75'' W x 7.25'' D), together with a conforming electrified candelabra garniture, each piece surmounted by two fabric-shaded electrified faux-candles centering a standing monk (each: 15'' H x 8.25'' W x 5'' D), 3 pieces, est: $4000/6000 Provenance: Private Collection, Laguna Beach, CA

Condition

Overall good condition, with general light marks, scratches, nicks, darkening to gilt bronze and scattered minor chips and losses to ceramic flowers, the largest approximately .75'' x .5''. One candelabra with monk figure loose from base and lacking two porcelain flowers; one additional flower detached, retained. Electrified, as stated; wiring should be checked by a qualified electrician prior to use. Lacking key; working condition unknown. Moran's does not guarantee working condition of clocks and watches.
