Indian by a fireside, signed lower right: Hinkle, oil on canvas, 36'' H x 30'' W, est: $10,000/15,000 Note: Artist estate stamps verso and on the stretcher. Provenance: The Jim and Lauris Philips Collection, San Marino, CA
Condition
Visual: Generally good condition. A small fleck of paint loss in the lower right corner. Frame abrasion in the lower left corner and along the right edge. Scattered surface dirt and grime. Blacklight: A 6.5'' x 1'' area of touch-up upper left. Three spots of touch-up in the man's collar, the largest 1'' x .25''. A .5'' x 1.5'' area of touch-up in the man's shoulder. A 1.75'' x .5'' area of touch-up in the man's hand. A 3.5'' x 1'' 'Z'-shaped area of touch-up upper right. A few small spots of touch-up upper center, the largest pea-sized.
