Late 18th century, the apparently unsigned single-train movement attached to the white enameled dial signed ''Robin / Paris'', further inscribed with applied Arabic numeral hour markers and subsidiary minute indices with Arabic numerals marking fifteen minute increments housed within a hinged glazed aperture, the cylindrical case supported between the arms of an alabaster lyre mounted with rooster-headed half-figures and surmounted by a radiating espagnolette, raised overall on a waisted stepped bead-molded and festooned base, on stepped rounded feet, 13.875'' H x 6.5'' W x 3.75'' D, est: $3000/5000 Provenance: Private Collection, Laguna Beach, CA
Overall good condition, with scattered minor scratches, nicks and darkening to gilt bronze mounts commensurate with age. With repairs and areas of corresponding fill to each arm of lyre and waisted base. An approximately 1'' x 1'' area of repair to enamel and overpaint to dial adjacent to winding aperture. Lacking key.
