Late 19th / early 20th century, underglaze blue crossed swords mark, and incised ''320'' and impressed ''46'', emblematic of ''Water'', from the ''Four Elements'' series inspired by the J.J. Kandler models (1741 - 1747), elaborately modeled in relief and polychrome-painted with gilt borders, the conch-form spout surmounted by a cherub gripping the seaweed-form handle joined to the neck decorated with insects and applied with a figure of Neptune, over the body painted with a fleet of galleons on an ocean from which protrude four figures of rearing horses, a mermaid and the tails of sea monsters, on a waisted oval foliate foot applied with leaping dolphins, 25.5'' H x 13.5'' W x 8.5'' D, est: $5000/8000
Approximately 10 - 12 expertly executed overpainted restorations scattered throughout, most addressing minor losses, two addressing larger losses to legs of horses and to handle. A firing crack to right hand side of body adjacent to horses.
