Third quarter 19th century, the dial signed ''Deniere / F.t de bronzes / a Paris'', the two-train movement stamped ''2982 / Deniere / a Paris'' and ''Cailleaux'', surmounted by a patinated bronze figural group depicting five putti wrestling with a goat over a rectangular gilt-bronze case elaborately decorated with blooming vines and scrolling foliage centered by the circular glazed hinged aperture enclosing the white enameled face with black applied Roman numeral hour markers and outer Arabic minute track, the whole raised on outswept S-scroll acanthus-form feet, 24.25'' H x 31'' W x 10.5'' D, est: $5000/8000 Provenance: Private Southern California Collection
Overall good condition. Re-gilt. Patinated bronze sculpture not attached to gilt bronze base. Scattered minor scratches, spots of wear and darkening to gilt bronze commensurate with age. Shallow, approximately 1'' x .75'' area of chipping to rear glazed hinged door. Scattered chips and fleabites around edges of front glazed aperture; the largest approximately .25'' x .25''. Dial with minor chipping near right winding aperture. Works complete; running condition unknown. Moran's does not guarantee working condition of clocks or watches.

JMA may, in our discretion and as a service to buyers, arrange to have purchased lots packed, insured and forwarded at the request, expense risk of the buyer. JMA assumes no responsibility for acts or omissions in such packing or shipping by other packers or carriers, whether recommended by JMA. Nor does JMA assume any responsibility for any damage to picture frames or to the glass therein. In circumstances JMA arranges and bills for such services via invoice or credit card, JMA will include an administration charge.
In the case of JMA personally delivering an item, if an item cannot be delivered in condition equal to the existent condition at the time of should any item be mis delivered, stolen or lost prior to delivery, JMA‚s liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the buyer at the auction. Buyers are strongly encouraged to view all items auctioned on display before the auction to determine the true condition of items of interest.
