Late 19th/early 20th century, with circular foundry mark T within an A, further marked ''Austria'', a cold-painted bronze featuring two Orientalist figures and saddled camels carrying a howdah between them, the hinged top of the howdah opening to reveal two inkwells, raised overall a rectangular yellow marble base, 9.25'' H x 15.25'' W x 7'' D, est: $3000/5000 Provenance: Private Collection, Ventura, CA
Overall good condition, with general dust accumulation, wear and darkening to bronze and painted finish commensurate with age. Right camel lacking two tassels. Marble with scattered scratches, fleabites and nicks, the largest approximately .25'' x .25'' to right edge and an approximately 1'' x .5'' area of repair to underside of marble.
