Late 19th century, New York, NY, stamped to neck block, exterior and interior of body ''C.F. Martin & Co. / New York'', with label to interior of hard-shell wood case ''C.F. Martin & Co., Manufacturers of Guitars, Etc. / Size of G 2 1/2 No. of Qual. 17'', ebonized neck, spruce body and pyramid bridge, 36.75'' H x 11.625'' W x 4'' D, est: $1500/2500 Provenance: Estate, Berkeley, CA
Condition
The case: 38.25'' H x 13.5'' W x 5.5'' D. Overall good condition, with a few light marks and scratches to original finish commensurate with age. Two bone tuning pegs with stable cracks. An approximately 2.5''-long stable hairline crack to upper end of fingerboard below nut and an approximately 12''-long hairline crack to one side of body. An approximately 1.5'' x .5'' area of rubbed finish to soundboard. To be sold without strings.
