  Cocteau, Jean Les Monstres sacrés. Mit 3 lithographischen Tafeln nach Zeichnungen von Christian Bérard. Paris, Gallimard, Impr. Grévin & fils Lagny-sur-Marne, (28 avril) 1940. 211 S., (2) u. 2 Bll. 8° Broschur. Im Schuber. With 3 lithographic plates after drawings by Christian Bérard. Original brochure in slipcase. First edition. - One of 6 copies on China paper, here the only copy on China H.C. - The drama, written during the "drôle de guerre", was about a pair of actors caught in a ménage à trois. The cast included Yvonne de Bray, the Amazon Violette Morris and Jean Marais. The play was performed at the Théâtre Michel in February 1940 and was a great success. Partly irregularly trimmed and a few pages uncut. Good copy of the scarce preferred edition of the painter and poet Cocteau. Erste Ausgabe. - Eins von 6 Exemplaren auf China Papier, hier das einzige Exemplar auf China H.C. - Das Drama, das während des "Drôle de guerre" geschrieben wurde, handelte von einem Schauspielerpaar, das in einer Ménage à trois gefangen war. Die Besetzung umfasste Yvonne de Bray, die Amazone Violette Morris und Jean Marais. Das Stück wurde im Februar 1940 im Théâtre Michel aufgeführt und war ein großer Erfolg.
