Folio. Dekorativer Ldr. d. Zt. über Holzdeckeln mit goldgper. ornamentaler Acanthusblatt-Bordüre und Perlstab-Punzierungen, von einer goldgepr. Filete abgegrenzt. Achtpassiges Mittelstück mit à-la-guirlande Bordüre. In der Mitte prachtvoller Sternenkranz mit floralen Plattenstempeln und Perlstab-punziertem Innenstern, bekrönt von flor. Plattenstempeln. Die ausgesparten Zwickel mit feinen sternförm. Plattenstempel-Punzierungen im horror vacui. Rücken mit acht Gefachen, je im prachtvollen Lederschnitt mit ornament. flor. Bandformen besetzt. In der Mitte jew. eine Raute bekrönt mit Kardinalskrone. Stilistische Verwandschaften finden sich zu den frz. Pointillé-Einbänden. Dekorative Metallschließen, dreis. Goldschnitt (etw. verblasst), Ldr.-Griffregister. (Berieben, Ecken bestoßen, unteres Gelenk hinten angeplatzt, Vergoldung tls. abgerieben.)
Schöner Druck in Rot und Schwarz mit zahlreichen Notenseiten. Die Kupferstiche von Rudolph Johann Störklin. - Papier zart gebräunt. Insgesamt wohl erhalten.
With 1 engr. title vign., 10 fullpage copper plates and numerous woodcut initials. Decorated gilt boards over wooden covers with an ornamental gold-embossed acanthus leaf border and pearl-bar decoration, bordered by a gold-embossed fillet. Eight-piece centrepiece with à la guirlande border. In the centre a splendid star wreath with floral plate stamps and pearl-rod-punctured inner star, crowned by floral plate stamps. The recessed spandrels with fine star-shaped plate stamps in horror vacui. Spine with eight compartments, each in a splendid leather cut with ornamental floral ribbon forms. In the centre a diamond crowned with a cardinal's crown. Stylistic similarities to the French pointillé bindings. Decorative metal clasps, gilt edges (somewhat faded), cloth grip register. (Rubbed, corners bumped, lower joint cracked at the back, gilding partly rubbed off). - Beautiful impression in red and black with numerous pages of notes. The copper engravings by Rudolph Johann Störklin. - Paper delicately browned. Overall well preserved.
