Enriched copy with engraved title, engraved coat-of-arms, 2 leaves engr. dedication and 53 engraved portraits. Flexible cont. vellum with gilt fillets and spine label (somewhat rubbed and bumped). - Rare. - Collection of short biographies of important "Belgians". Our copy enriched with the engraved title, armorial plate, dedication, preface, plate index and 53 portrait plates from "Illustrium Galliae Belgicae scriptorum icones et elogia" of 1604, published by Th. Galle in Antwerp. The portraits show, among others, Andreas Vesalius, Justus Lipsius, Erasmus of Rotterdam, Rudolf Agricola and Abraham Ortelius. - The first plate (Hadrianus Traiectensis Pont. Max.) mounted, taken from another edition. Front endpapers with annotations in pencil. Title page with erased ownership inscription. Title page, engr. title and a few plates with traces of an erased stamp. Index with marginalia in ink. Some plates somewhat (water-)stained and with backing in margin. Paper somewhat browned. The plates with burrs and discreet plate tone. Selten. - Sammlung von Kurzbiographien bedeutender "Belgier". Unser Exemplar angereichert mit dem gestochenen Titel, Wappen-Tafel, Widmung, Vorrede, Tafel-Index und 53 Porträt-Tafeln aus "Illustrium Galliae Belgicae scriptorum icones et elogia" von 1604, erschienen bei Th. Galle in Antwerpen. Die Porträts zeigen u.a. Andreas Vesalius, Justus Lipsius, Erasmus von Rotterdam, Rudolf Agricola und Abraham Ortelius. - Die erste Tafel (Hadrianus Traiectensis Pont. Titel und einige wenige Tafeln mit Spuren eines gelöschten Stempels. Index mit Marginalien in Tinte. Einige Tafeln etwas (wasser-)fleckig und mit Hinterlegung im Rand. Papierbedingt etwas gebräunt.
