  Zoologie Bleuland, Jan Icones anatomico-physiologicae parttium corporis humani et animalium, quae in descriptione Musei Academiae Rheno-Trajectinae inveniuntur. {Mit 12 Aquatinta-Tafeln.} Uetrecht, Altheer, 1826. VII, 24 S., 25-55, Tafeln. 4°. Mod. Hldr. im Stil d. Zt. Zoology - {First examples of colour printing in microscopy.} - First edition of his description of some objects of his anatomical museum with copper plates printed in colour. - Goldschmid, Entwicklung und Bibliographie der pathologisch-anatomischen Abbildung 121: "The technically interesting collection, already admired by Cruveilhier, ... shows coloured etching(s) of animal organs, throughout unmarked, in part clearly showing a double plate margin. The technique is aquatint and illuminated etching, the colours used are brick red, bluish green and yellow, on 11 and 12 also light blue and grey (obviously applied by hand). The illustrations make an unusually lively and fresh impression. ... Exceptional for their time and original in technique, drawing and colour, these illustrations are among the most interesting we have seen." - The first three sheets stamped in margin, only partly lightly, the plates partly a little bit stronger, browned. Good copy. Erste Ausgabe seiner Beschreibung einiger Objekte seines anatomischen Museums mit farbig gedruckten Kupfertafeln. - Goldschmid, Entwicklung und Bibliographie der pathologisch-anatomischen Abbildung 121: "Die technisch interessante Sammlung, schon von Cruveilhier bewundert, ... zeigt farbige Radierung(en) von tierischen Organen, durchweg unbezeichnet, lassen z.T. einen doppelten Plattenrand deutlich erkennen. Die Technik ist Aquatinta und illuminierte Radierung, die verwendeten Farben sind ziegelrot, bläulich-grün und gelb, auf 11 und 12 auch hellblau und grau (offenbar mit der Hand aufgetragen). Die Abbildungen machen einen ungewöhnlich lebendigen und frischen Eindruck. ... Außergewöhnlich für ihre Zeit und originell in Technik, Zeichnung und Farbe gehören diese Abbildungen zu den interessantesten, welche uns zu Gesicht gekommen sind." - Die ersten drei Blatt im Rand gestempelt, nur teilweise leicht, die Tafeln teilweise etwas stärker, gebräunt. Gutes Exemplar.
