SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA ATTRIBUTED WILD ROSE WREATH SIGNED WEDDING APPLIQUE QUILT, nine 24" SQ blocks with red and green solids along with a yellow print for the pistil, extensive heavy hand quilting including feather plume wreaths, outlining, petals, a man and woman together, a hand, etc., hand stitched "1856", "EK", and "MAR / CH 13 1856", matching floral trailing floral border, white backing with red print binding along with a supportive backing and hanging sleeve. Retains original stenciling. Found in Rockingham, Co., VA. Circa 1856. 98" x 98".

Excellent condition, some scattered stains/discoloration, a small repair and some possible minor restitching, several scattered small areas of wear, binding with wear reusulting in a 7/8" and a 10" patch repair
