Fitted with a period set-up comprising an E. F. Jones No. 3 lip burner, thumbwheel marked "E. F. JONES PATENT JANUARY. 11. 1859", with a Merrill's air director, marked "R. S. MERRILL'S PATENT. JUNE 14. 1859", 6 1/8" D shade ring with coining to edge, cut and frosted waisted bell-form shade with foliate and berry pattern, and a colorless lip chimney. Reserve. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 39" H to top of shade, 28" H to top of collar, 8" SQ base. Shade 9 5/8" H, 6 1/8" D fitter. Third quarter 19th century.

Catalogue Note: Less than a dozen of these large-size Sandwich banquet lamps are known to exist including the example referenced above in the Sandwich Glass Museum. The opportunity to acquire one of these extremely rare lighting devices with a correct set-up very rarely presents itself.
Condition
Excellent condition, font with expected exterior minor wear, interior with scattered scratches, primarily to upper shoulder, stem with a partially broken bubble, as made, marble with expected minute flakes/roughness. Burner with some old interior resoldering to air screen, shade undamaged, chimney with minute wear, each with normal roughness to rims, as made.
