IMPORTANT PAGE CO., SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA "ENROLLING NOTICE" BROADSIDE, manuscript and printed form on paper, dated Luray, January 25, 1864, in part "In obedience to General Orders No. 3, A. and I. General's Office, dated Richmond, January 9th, 1864, and other pervious orders, all white males between the ages of eighteen and forty-five years, in Page County (which constitutes part of the 9 Congressional District of Virginia) not now on the Army Rolls, or heretofore enrolled as Conscripts and now regularly detailed, will report themselves to the Enrolling Office for examination by the Medical Board and enrolment at Luray on the 1 day of Febry 1864". In addition it requires that "Persons reporting will provide themselves with three days rations and necessary clothing to make themselves comfortable in camp." Signed by Capt. Edward B. Powell, Enrolling Officer, and Js. H. Turner, Examining Surgeon. Reserve. 13 3/4" x 12 1/2".

Good overall condition, stain to right half of sheet, small loss to right edge and very small hole at upper center, some normal foxing.
