all painted in typical Prattware hues with peafowl nestled in branches surrounded by foliage, under various colored bands. All unmarked. Circa 1800-1810. 2" HOA, the teabowls; 5 1/4" DOA, the saucers.
Published: George and Mickey Deike - Feathers and Foliage, p.88, fig. 5.44, for the teabowl and saucer. The berried example is illustrated on p. 161, fig. 5.148. The example with painted leaves is illustrated on p. 146, fig 5.130.
Provenance: From the personal collection of George and Mickey Deike.
Most items in very good condition with tiny chips and acreta from stacking; one teabowl with an over-painted chip and firing crack, and the other with a line of cobalt decoration "borrowed" from another item in the kiln; both saucers with tiny chips to rims, short and light firing cracks and some tiny chips to foot rims, the berried example with some exfoliation from being overfired in the kiln.
