the exterior painted with large and colorful peafowl perched on a branch surrounded by green-sponged leaves, alternating with large clusters of brown branches with green-sponged foliage, the interior and sides with brown bands, the well painted with a peafowl nestling in foliage. Unmarked. Circa 1800-1820. 4" H, 9 1/4" D.

Good to moderate condition, with four hairlines off of the rim, all professionally resealed. The color is very bright, and the glaze crisp. There is evidence that the bowl slumped in firing, with four bubbles to the interior side walls.
