of scallop-shell molded form, painted with a blue band to the edge, with a brown band to the inner edge, issuing a border pattern of stylized swags and leaves centering a basket of flowers blooming from a planter, painted in blue, ocher and green. Unmarked. Circa 1800-1820. 9 1/2" D.
Published: George and Mickey Deike - Feathers and Foliage, p. 274, fig.8.30.
Provenance: From the personal collection of George and Mickey Deike.
Good condition, a short hairline crack at 3 o'clock professionally glued and repainted, a few very tiny and/or shallow chips and abrasions to the edge, consistent with age, and some visible crazing to surface. On the reverse, there is a flaw in molding at 10 o'clock, completely original and glazed over.
