comprising a jug of baluster form, with rounded rectangular and C-scroll handle with foliate-molded lower terminate, and pierced strainer before shell-molded spout, the engine-turned neck with multiple bands of lines, the body above the barrel-molded lower body, painted with black bands and iron-red wide bands at neck, printed in black with three Classical scenes of women surrounded by acanthus motifs, over-painted with red enamel. Unmarked. Sold together with a cup and saucer set dipped in black slip, painted in iron-red with bands of anthemia and dentil borders, with gilt lines to edges and under borders. 2/ 7323 to cup. Attributed to Wilson, late 1796-1820s. Circa 1810. 7" H, the jug.

Good condition overall, pitcher with chip to spout, and minor repainting to tip, minor crazing within foot; the cup with a firing flaw to the rim, original to manufacture.
