Jones No. 1 lip burner with thumbwheel impressed "E. F. JONES PATENT. MAY 4, 1858. / REISSUE JAN 11 1859", with a Merrill's air director, marked "MERRILL'S PATENT. JUNE 14. 1859", brass 3" standard shade ring with coining to edge, frosted and engraved ball-form shade with Vintage pattern decoration, and a colorless lip chimney. Probably Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 16 1/8" H to top of shade, 9 3/4" H to top of collar, 4" SQ base. Shade 5 3/8" HOA, 3" D fitter. Third quarter 19th century.

Outstanding condition, lamp undamaged except for some minute expected wear to marble. Burner underside with some possible resoldering to wick tube, shade undamaged, chimney fitter with normal roughness, as made.
