marked to ricasso "U.S.N. / D.R. / 1862", and to reverse ricasso "AMES MFG. / CHICOPEE". 1862. 32" LOA. Provenance: Property of a Virginia private collector.
Condition
Blade with loss to point, guard misshapen and cracked. Original leather grip dry and cracking, with some losses. Blade has been sharpened via grinding.
