A LARGE RUSSIAN ICON OF SELECTED SAINTS, MSTERA, CIRCA 1890. At top center within an ogee arched reserve, Christ delivers a blessing to a gathering of 13 saints below each identified with a corresponding inscription. The overall style is very reminiscent of icons painted in the workshop of Nikolai Sergeevich Emelianov which drew on icons of an earlier period. Together they include the Guardian Angel, the Holy Martyr Agatha, the Holy Venerable Martyr Evdokia, the Holy Martyr Justina, the Holy Martyr Syprian, the Holy Hero Martyr Zenobius, the Holy Great Martyr Barbara, the Venerable Maria of Egypt, the Holy Martyr Triphon, the Holy Great Martyr Artemiy, the Holy Basil the Great, the Holy Martyr Dimitrus of Thessalonica, and Onuphrius the Great. 14 inches x 12 inches (36 x 30.25 cm).

It is the purchaser’s responsibility to obtain any licenses and/or certificates as well as any other required documentation prior to shipment. In the case of denial or delay of any required documentation or paperwork, they buyer will still be responsible for making on-time payment for the total purchase price of the lot.
