Worth Labeled Silk Velvet and Lace Jacket, c.1905
Green silk velvet jacket with opening down the center front. The large sleeves are pulled into the elbow and finished with a wide band of cream lace, which is repeated around the neckline and down the center front to the waist. The waistline is shaped into a v at the center front and is gathered in rows to form a fitted waist. The original silk lining has been removed (and has been kept and is part of this lot) and replaced with a green satin that follows the pattern of the exterior. The Worth label was re-stitched to the center back neckline. The jacket closes down the center front with hook and eyes that extend from the neckline to the waistline.

Condition
Condition:The overall condition is good structurally though there are several flattened nap areas throughout the velvet. The entirety of the shattered weighted satin lining has been removed and carefully replaced. The original lining is maintained with the garment. The lace trim around the neckline is not fully attached and has multiple small holes throughout. The sleeves show evidence of possible alterations with original or altered stitch lines still noticeable. Both underarm seams have some noticeable repairs and loose stitches. The lace on the right sleeve has a separation on the bottom of one of the scalloped edges. Everything is sold 'As Is'. The stated overall condition of the lot is based on the assumption that the wear is consistent with age and use. All other condition issues are stated above. To request additional condition photos, please use the INQUIRE button or email couturecr@lesliehindman.com with the lot number. Condition is a matter of opinion of the evaluator and should not be treated as a statement of fact.
