Lot Description

Three Red and Print Dresses, 1940s

This lot includes three dresses.

THE FIRST
Red and off-white print satin-weave dress with shawl collar, short sleeves, front peplum over an a-line skirt, and silver-tone faceted metal rings down the center front.

Red crepe wrap front dress with black square print, exaggerated lapel collar, and full pleated skirt.

THE THIRD
Red crepe de Chine short sleeve dress with black and green print, exaggerated pointed collar, front button closure and pleated flared skirt.

Condition

Condition:THE FIRSTThe overall condition is good though there is extensive discoloration throughout the entire dress especially along the shoulders, under each arm, and noticeably on the off-white areas. There are dark yellow spots on the front right hip peplum and left back hip, a dark spot on the back right skirt near center back seam, and overall soiling along the hemline. The left side seam on the bodice appears to have been repaired. THE SECONDThe overall condition is good though there are some dark spots on the front left collar and soiling along the neckline and under each arm. There are some popped stitches on the center front skirt seam and some loose threads under the back collar. There is a small hole in the back skirt near seat and the hemline has been altered. THE THIRDThe overall condition is good though the neckline, shoulder tops, and shoulder pads has some light soiling. The right front sleeve has a hole in it near the armhole. The left side seam has some repair work and the front top button is missing. Everything is sold 'As Is'. The stated overall condition of the lot is based on the assumption that the wear is consistent with age and use. All other condition issues are stated above.
