* An 18 Karat Yellow Gold Open Face Minute Repeating Pocket Watch, C.H. Meylan,
45.00 mm case diameter, white porcelain dial signed C.H. MEYLAN BRASSUS, Arabic numerals with outer chapter ring calibrated to 60 units, blued steel fancy lancette hands, subdial for seconds at 6 o'clock, polished bezel, outer band and case back, slide lever for repeater function in the outer band between 1 and 4 o'clock, hinged case back, solid gold cuvette, stem wound and set jeweled and adjusted movement with fausses côtes finish, a swan neck regulator, and double hammer repeater function.
Provenance:
Gifted to Edward Kelly, Mayor of Chicago, 1933-1947, from is friend Frank Harmon. The pocket watch was returned to Frank Harmon by Edward Kelly's wife after the mayor's death. Frank Harmon then gifted the pocket watch to his friend Frank Zimmerman and it has been passed down by descent through the family to the present owner.
