The "bumper" rotor differs from the more traditional winding rotor which rotates 360 degrees. Instead, the bumper rotor moves along a back and forth hammer action in a semi-circular confine, "bumping" against spring loaded pads that launch the rotor back in the opposite direction. This style of automatic winding mechanism has a distinctive feeling on the wrist as the rotor contacts the spring loaded pads and is an interesting footnote in the evolution of the self-winding mechanism.
The watch winds, sets and runs but has not been timed for accuracy.
The crystal shows no appreciable wear at 10X magnification, the dial shows no appreciable spotting or scratches, the painted signature is clear and distinct, the applied Omega mark shows no wear, the applied numerals show scattered minute indentations, the hands show moderate indentations. The bezel and lugs show scattered superficial scratches. The case back has one area of moderate scratches and scattered superficial scratches. The strap and buckle show no appreciable wear.
