A Watermelon Tourmaline Fish Carving, Gerd Dreher,
making full use of the original outline of the rough crystal, this finely carved, realistic and vividly colored exotic fish carving utilizes the classic "watermelon" coloration of the tourmaline with a core of intense purplish pink comprising the body and fins while the outer edge of olive yellowish green accents the fins, eye inset with a round cabochon cut sapphire, the scales suggested by a crosshatched pattern, the fins with a fluted finish.
