A Ridgway Partial Dinner Service,
of Simlay pattern, comprising seven dinner plates, six salad plates, six bread plates, five dessert plates, twelve soup bowls, seven finger bowls, six dessert bowls, seven tea cups, eighteen saucers, two serving bowls, one gravy boat with plate, one tureen, one square cookie plate, two circular platters, two oval platters, one warming serving dish, and one lidded serving dish, 86 items total.
Diameter of first 9 5/8 inches.
Estimate $ 800-1,200
Dinner plates: two have small chips to rim; all show wear to gilt rim.
Salad plates: four have small chips to rim; all show wear to gilt rim.
Bread plates: one has chip to rim, one has small loss to rim and crack, one has two chips to rim and discoloration to glaze, all show wear to handpainting on face and to gilt rims.
Dessert plates: three have chips to rim; all show wear to gilt rim.
Soup bowls: all in nice condition.
Finger bowls: all show some wear to gilt rim but in nice condition.
Dessert bowls: all show wear to gilt rim but in nice condition.
Tea cups: one has surface crack; all show wear to gilt rims.
Saucers: one has chip to underside of rim, all show wear to gilt rim.
Serving bowls: one has large chip to lower right rim and chip to lower left rim, one has small chip to lower right rim and to small chips to upper left rim; both show wear to gilt rim.
Gravy boat and plate: both show wear to gilt rims, in nice condition.
Tureen: large repair from base to left rim.
Cookie plate: small chip to upper right rim; shows wear to gilt rim.
Circular platters: both show wear to gilt rim, in nice condition.
Oval platters: smaller platter has large and small chip to upper left corner of rim, larger platter in nice condition, both show wear to gilt rim.
Warming serving dish: in nice condition.
Lidded serving dish: both show wear to gitl rim, in nice condition.
