Hand engraved on the reverse "Sarah Courtenay died 21 Sept 1785 aged 32" Sarah Courtenay was born September 1, 1753 to Edward and Sarah Drury in Amity, Pennsylvania. She was the first wife of Hercules Courtenay who was prominent in the Baltimore area during the Revolutiionary War and was a member of the Sons of Liberty from 1766-1776. 3.40 dwts.
