A Monumental Victorian Carved Oak Eight-Tube Case Clock CASE ATTRIBUTED TO R.J. HORNER, MOVEMENT BY JOSEPH JENNENS, LONDON, LATE 19TH CENTURY having an openwork crest heavily carved to show a vacant cartouche flanked by female figures and foliate scrolls above the domed hood having a molded projecting cornice over gadroon and carved egg-and-dart decoration and the brass dial having a silvered chapter ring with Arabic numeral hours, signed Joseph Jennens/ Skinner Street,/ Clerkenwell London, the trunk heavily carved to show male herms flanking the beveled glazed door, raised on a plinth heavily carved to show an oval cartouche with a reclining putto among birds, foliate scrolls and male masks in relief. Height 118 inches.
