A Large Pair of Yellow Ground Gold Thread 'Dragon' Embroidery Silk Panels

each finely embroidered with central five-clawed lateral-reaching dragons, the confronting faces of which are expressively illustrated with satin stitched gradient salmon, blue, and silver toned silk floss accentuated by outline in heavy black thread extending the along sinuous spines turning bodies composed of gold metal wrapped salmon silk evenly laid and couched by white threads in shell patterns to resemble flickering scales; each surrounded by bats, clouds, and auspicious objects in the same palette of satin stitched silk floss and metallic gold wrapped thread, all against a ground woven of assumed warp-facing lozenge ground twill.

Condition
In stable condition, though not examined outside of frames. There is some loss to embroidery revealing black draft outlines underneath. The left panel with water stains to the lower left and upper right corner, with apparent bleaching or mineralization at the center resulting in loss of lustre to ground structure. Apparent casings at the top of each intact. Original side seams let out for framing.
