A Japanese Satsuma Pattern Covered Vase
having a shishi finial surmounting a removable lid, the body decorated with figures.
Height 39 inches.
Estimate $ 200-300Condition
moderate wear overall with areas of rubbing to gilt; a few scattered flakes to glaze; crazing; upper rim with V-shaped repair; horizontal crack to surface with overpainting extending through half of vase, but does not appear to be a restoration; one figural handle with repairs; the other with two losses to hair; lid with hairlines visible from underside; figure atop lid with scattered restoration and overpainting (images available)
