consisting of a pair of stylized intertwining peacocks sculpted to form an interlocking cloak clasp, the necks, heads and plumes realistically rendered in intricate engraved detail, the open wirework plumage accented with 14 bezel set crystal opal plaques, extending to the abstract tail sections, the brooch measuring approximately 107.00 x 78.00 mm.
Stamp: G. Fouquet (French assay and maker's marks) 3105.
Provenance Notes:
Inspired by a noted collaboration with the renowned Art Nouveau innovator Alfonse Mucha, this cloak clasp in all its exquisite detail voluptuous lines perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the genre. Its peacock theme was a favorite of the duo.
