The original drawing on velum was glued into the book backwards, causing the numbers to appear reversed. Brooch is marked: 98091. Brooch tests as platinum. Finished with a pinstem and catch on the reverse. The bird's eye is a ruby cabochon measuring 1.05 mm. Appears that beak and ear have been repaired with black enamel.
