Salvador Dali (Spanish, 1904 - 1989)
Title: The Prince of Love (The Hanged Man)
Date: 1976
Color Lithograph, signed and numbered (E/A) in pencil.
Comes with letter by Mr Bruce Hochman of Salvador Dali Gallery and evaluation of $15,000.
This image is part of the Trilogy of Love Series, In the second act of the Trilogy we see the prince of love. The vision of love's promise has sent him soaring to the heights. The rope attached to his left leg maintains his link with reality. He appears in string contracts to the serenity of nature which surrounds him. All of which he will find is an illusion as he passes through the storms of life. The very bright area in the lower centre represents the essence of love and happiness. This the prince can realize if he successfully passes through the ordeals of life.
