The auction featuring items from the Saul Brandman Foundation. War club in carved wood fabrication with mother of pearl inlay, made by the Maori people. Country of origin: New Zealand. This war club is called a Wahaika, which translates to“mouth of the fish,†and it is a weapon that was used in hand-to-hand combat before the introduction of European technology to NewZealand. This war club has a two-face design, and it measures eighteen inches tall by seven incheswide by one and one-half inches deep.
