Johann Nepomuk Franz Xaver Strixner (1782 Altötting - 1855 Munich) after Annibale Carracci (1560 Bologna - 1609 Rom): Church in Italy, Incunabulum of Lithography, 1811-1816, c. 1811, Lithography
Technique: Lithography on Paper

Inscription: Behind on the left a three-storey Romanesque tower with a low pointed roof. Trees and outbuildings, on the right landscape with staffage figures. Strixner learned engraving with Dorner in 1799. Employed as a draughtsman 1803 at the electoral gallery in Munich. From 1810 he published the Oeuvres Lithographiques. From 1820 in Stuttgart.

Good condition. The image makes a very good impression. The sheet is foxed due to its age, lower right corner with liquid stain; lower margin with box pleat; on the right side in the area of the landscape and the sky the paper is slightly thinned in places; at the upper edge slightly creased due to an earlier mounting.
