Johann Nepomuk Franz Xaver Strixner (1782 Altötting - 1855 Munich) after Baccio Bandinelli (around 1493 - 1560 ibid.): Rape of the Sabine Women, incunabulum of lithography, Winkler No 965, 135, 1811-1816, c. 1815, Lithography

Watermark: Partially visible. Letters/Digits - more than three letters (words/names) - M. IA. Huber - Date: 19th century
Inscription: Signed at the bottom: "Bacc: Bandinelli // N: Strixner del:", listed in Winkler: Die Frühzeit der Deutschen Lithographie, No. 965, 13.5 / Dussler p.140 No. XIII, 5. Munich 1811-16. Strixner learned engraving with Dorner in 1799. Employed as draughtsman 1803 at the electoral gallery in Munich. From 1810 he published the Oeuvres Lithographiques. From 1820 in Stuttgart.
