Johann Hoffmann (19th century): Cross-section through a large porcelain kiln, 1865, Pen drawing
Technique: Washed Pen drawing on Paper, mounted on Paper
Inscription: Dated at lower left "Im Ianuar 1865", signed on the right by the artist: "Gez: I. Hoffmann".
This sheet comes from the work portfolio of a pupil of the Royal District Agricultural School at Lichtenhof near Nuremberg, Johann Hoffmann from Thurnau, who put numerous technical drawings on paper in the years 1864/65, presumably as teaching and practice pieces for lessons at the school.
