Gustav Georg Endner (1754 Nuremberg - 1824 Gohlis): Portrait of Johann Baptist Iulius Bernadotte (1764-1844), Maréchal d'Empire, Karl XIV Johann, 1810, Stipple engraving
Technique: Stipple engraving and Etching on Paper, mounted on Paper
Inscription: Titled and inscribed below the image: "engraved by G.G. Ender in Leipzig" and "Prince of Pontecorvo / Crown Prince of Sweden". Lower right corner of the sheet with the sitter's life data, in lead. Numbered at the top: "10 / No. 13". Portrait of the French Maréchal d'Empire, Charles XIV John, Johann Baptist Iulius Bernadotte (1764-1844); soldier, general and Swedish commander-in-chief of the Allied Northern Army against Napoleon. He is the founder of the Swedish Royal House of Bernadotte.
