F. H. W. Rosmaesler (19th century) after Ferdinand Jagemann (1780 Weimar - 1820 ibid.): Profile portrait of the German poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749 Frankfurt am Main - 1832 Weimar), 1827, Copper engraving
Technique: Copper engraving on Paper, mounted on Paper
Inscription: Signed and dated by the artist and titled with the sitter's name in the lower part of the plate. Below inscribed in pencil by another hand with the dates of Goethe's life.

Description: Half-length portrait of the famous German poet and representative of the Weimar Classicism. The breast star of the Austrian Imperial Order of Leopold can be seen on the chest.
