This late model lefthand drive American export was repatriated 10 years ago, since when it has remained in heated storage. It teams Red bodywork with a Fawn vinyl interior and the vendor purchased it as an addition to his existing collection of MGs, as it is 'mechanically and bodily original, rust free and shows no sign of ever having been damaged or modified'. He further informs us that 'the XPEG engine is in good condition and runs well with steady oil pressure. The gearbox shows none of the usual faults and the back axle is quiet. The chromework is good and 'IG 4168' remains in its original colour, though the earlier respray is now a little flat. The interior has been retrimmed and the American hood is in good order'. As the vendor himself says, of the 9,600 TFs built, only 3,400 were 1500s, so such a sound unmolested one is a rarity.
