one depicting John Jones (1739-1801) in red coat and striped vest, inscribed on verso J. Jones, Exeter, 1785....Cross pinxit. for my newphew Winslow Jones, Mary Kitson, Dec. 15, 1860. John Jones was born 15 July 1739 and died 10 June 1801; another (cracked in half) depicting a young man in black jacket, and one depicting a young woman in a classical white robeProvenance: A Sutton Place, New York City, and Newport, Rhode Island Estate.
